Nicole Camaratta also picked up a point at No. 4 singles during the No. 33 Point Loma women's tennis team's 7-2 loss at No. 14 Azusa Pacific.

The Sea Lions are now 2-2 on the season. The Cougars improved to 3-1.

Newell and von Koch collected their victory at No. 1 doubles over Natalie Johnson and Lisa Schneider in a tight 8-6 match. Carmaratta took care of Lilit Vardanyan in straight sets at No. 4 singles 6-4 and 6-2.

The Sea Lions next match will be Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Concordia (CA).
