IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 29 Point Loma women's tennis team swept doubles to earn a 6-3 victory on the road over Concordia (CA) on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The Sea Lions are now 5-1 on the season, including a 3-1 mark on the road. The loss dropped Concordia to 4-2 and snaps their three-game winning streak. ÂÂÂ

The match began in singles play where
Regina von Koch remained undefeated this season (6-0), edging Luma Schwab in three sets 6-4, 1-6 and 6-2.
Shelby Groeneveld and
Ellie Gamble also earned singles victories in straight sets at the No. 3 and No. 6 spots, respectively. However, CUI also picked up three singles wins to send the match to doubles knotted at 3-3.

Just as they did a little over a week ago against Azusa Pacific, Point Loma swept all three doubles to take the match.
Nikki Newell and von Koch improved to 5-1 on the season with an 8-3 win at No. 1s.
Michelle Torres and Groeneveld also improved to 5-1 as a doubles pair with an 8-5 win at No. 2s to capture the decisive match point.
Nicole Camaratta and
Ellie Gamble added their fourth win in six pairs with an 8-6 win at No. 3s.

Point Loma will now prepare to host Western New Mexico on Friday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.Â
