SAN DIEGO - Michelle Torres earned a point in singles and Nicole Camaratta and Ellie Gamble combined to pick up another in doubles, however, those would be the only points the No. 24 PLNU women's tennis team would be able to squeeze out against the No. 2 team in the country, BYU-Hawaii, in a 7-2 loss on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
 
This was a matchup between the No. 1 and No. 6 teams in the West Region, which are both off to strong starts this season. The decision leaves BYU-Hawaii undefeated on the season at 5-0, as Point Loma dips to 6-2.
 
The match began with doubles where the combo of Camaratta and Gamble earned an impressive 8-4 win at No. 3s. Michelle Torres grinded out a three-set win at No. 6 singles, prevailing over Jeong-Min Jeon 0-6, 7-5 and 10-7.
 
The Sea Lions will be back in action on Saturday, Mar. 4 at 10 a.m. against Indiana Wesleyan.
