SAN DIEGO - With a 5-0 win over Colorado Mesa this afternoon, the Sea Lions' men's tennis team pushed their win streak to five games. With rain expected in the evening, the teams decided to play the men's match to clinch, which meant once one team won five points the other matches would stop. Point Loma took this as an opportunity to earn a quick win in dominant fashion. 

The Sea Lions made quick work of doubles play, sweeping doubles for the third time in their last four matches. Thomas Dafcik and Yuki Okamoto continued their dominant play earning an 8-3 win to earn the first point for PLNU. The team headed into singles with the 3-0 lead and would get a quick win from Tim Soderman at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2, to get Point Loma within a point of the victory. Brendon Millington secured the match for Point Loma with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. Despite not finishing the remaining matches, Point Loma held the lead in every match that remained unfinished.

On the success of the Dafcik/Okamoto doubles team: "Thomas and Yuki have played strong doubles since they were paired together. Their game styles and mindsets have worked well as a team and that has showed in their results."

On the high level of play over the last few weeks: "The men have done a great job picking up right where they left off before Spring Break. The strong improvement in doubles play has been a big key for us during the win streak. Adding that to our already strong singles play has made us a complete team."
