SEA LIONS PLACE SEVEN ON ALL-PACWEST TEAMS

SAN DIEGO – David Achaerandio's Newcomer of the Year award headlined the list of seven Point Loma men's soccer student-athletes being named to the 2019 All-PacWest team. Achaerandio was PLNU's lone representative on the all-conference first team. Tim Siegfried and Jacob Eisenberg were each second team selections, and Hunter Loomis, Corey Lundeen, Jacob Moreno, and Connor McEwen all earned third team honors. The seven selections more than double what the Sea Lions had in 2018.

David Achaerandio was second in the PacWest in points (36) and was third in goals (15). The senior from Madrid, Spain also helped the Sea Lions achieve a six game winning streak in conference play. In conference he scored a goal in seven of the 11 conference games, four being multi goal games. He registered a hat trick against Chaminade on Oct. 28 He was named also PacWest Player of the Week twice for the weeks of Sept. 30-Oct. 6 and Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

Junior forward Tim Siegfried earned second team All-PacWest honors. This is the third consecutive year Siegfried has been voted to an All-PacWest selection. Siegfried was second on the team with 16, recording six goals and four assists. He posted goals in five straight matches.

Joining Siegfried on the second team was defender Jacob Eisenberg. The junior helped solidify the Sea Lions' backline into one of the best units in the PacWest. In addition to helping PLNU be second in the league shutouts (5), he helped the Sea Lions record a 284 minute shutout streak.

For the first time in his career, sophomore Hunter Loomis earned an All-PacWest team selection. The forward from Granite Bay, California posted six goals and three assists en route to earning third team All-PacWest. Loomis posted two game winning goals against Cal State Dominguez Hills and UCSD.

Corey Lundeen picked up his first all-conference award as he was named third team All-PacWest as a midfielder. The sophomore exercise science and kinesiology major finished second on the team in assists, with five. He assisted on the game-winning goal against Notre Dame de Namur and Chaminade. The Sea Lions won every game he recorded a point in conference.

Jacob Moreno made an impact on the backline for Point Loma en route to earning All-PacWest honors as a junior. The native of Clarkston, Michigan assisted on the game winning goal against Dominican. In addition to helping PLNU be second in the league shutouts (5), he helped the Sea Lions record a 284 minute shutout streak.

Connor McEwen locked down the goal for the Sea Lions and earned third team All-PacWest honors. He registered 57 saves and five shutout on the season. The El Cajon, California native Allowed 1.228 goals against average good for second in the PacWest. McEwen led the PLNU defense in their 284 minute shutout streak. The business administration major was named PacWest defender of the week twice for the weeks of Sept. 2-8 and Sept. 16-22.

These seven student-athletes were key components that led the Point Loma men's soccer team to a third-place finish in the PacWest standings. These men led the program to a six game winning streak an 11-6-1 overall record.

Azusa Pacific's Isaac Bawa was named the PacWest Player of the Year after helping the Cougars to a perfect 18-0 record. His coach, Dave Bloomquist, was named the PacWest Coach of the Year. To see the complete 2017 All-PacWest men's soccer team, click here.

The Point Loma men's soccer team wrapped up their after falling short in their final game in overtime against Biola. The Sea Lions had a lot to cheer about all season, including a nine goal game against Chaminade, unfortunately they were unable to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
