Fresh off a PacWest championship and a fifth-straight NCAA Regional appearance, PLNU Men's Basketball has added a pair of experienced transfers in
Kyle Colvin (Cal Poly SLO) and
Aaron Acosta (Colorado College).
Â
Across two seasons at NCAA Division I Cal Poly, Colvin made 19 starts and played in 50 games, averaging 6.7 points per contest. The 6-foot-6 forward shot over 80% from the free throw line and scored in double figures 14 times, including when he set a career-high of 28 points against Idaho last November.
Â
"We are thrilled that
Kyle Colvin has decided to spend his final year with us here at Point Loma," PLNU Head Coach
Matt Logie said. "Kyle brings with him a wealth of Division I experience from Cal Poly. His combination of size, experience, skill and toughness will add a great deal to our front court as well as to our locker room and culture."

Acosta returns home to San Diego, where he attended high school at Canyon Crest Academy. The San Diego native twice earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors at Colorado College at the NCAA Division III level. As a freshman, he shot 44.4% from 3-point range while averaging 12.5 points per game, before increasing his scoring output to 17.9 ppg as a sophomore.
Â
"
Aaron Acosta is another mature and experienced veteran who has enjoyed a great deal of success at the college level while excelling at Colorado College," Logie said. "Aaron is a very bright and mature young man who can shoot the basketball and excels in a team framework. We are looking forward to the next two years with Aaron as he pursues his graduate degree."
