(LAKELAND, Fla.) PLNU Men's Basketball has been as announced as one of 10 participating teams who will open the 2026-27 season at the 10th Annual Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, the top preseason non-conference tournament in NCAA Division II.
 
The tournament will be hosted in Lakeland, Florida Nov. 7-8 on the campus of Florida Southern, with five games scheduled each day in the Jenkins Fieldhouse.
 
Point Loma is paired up to play against Washburn (Nov. 7 – 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT), the No. 1 seed in last year's NCAA Division II Central Regional, and defending national champion Gannon (Nov. 8 – 3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT).
 
Other participating teams include national runner-up Lander, South Central Regional champion Black Hills State and West Regional winners Cal State East Bay.
 
PLNU previously played in the SCB HOF Classic in 2024-25, defeating No. 22 Fort Lewis and No. 19 Florida Southern.
 
Point Loma is coming off back-to-back NCAA West Regional championship game appearances and a fifth-straight PacWest Conference title.
