Box Score (SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Tennis opened its 2026 season with a dominant 6-1 win over Occidental on Saturday afternoon.
 
Point Loma won the doubles point and all five singles matches the Sea Lions played in.
 
Alina Kupfer and Perla Conde Vendrell didn't lose a game on their way to a 6-0 win at doubles No. 2, before Anna Pallencaoe and Emely Valencia Andrejeva clinched the doubles point with their 6-3 victory at No. 1.
 
Then in singles, Point Loma didn't drop a single set, with Conde Vendrell (No. 4) and Zoe Moley (No. 5) both winning by 6-1, 6-1 margins.
 
Valencia Andrejeva (No. 2 – 6-3, 6-2), Pallencaoe (No. 1 – 6-4, 6-2) and Melissa Zirkle (No. 6 – 6-1, 6-3) also won in straight sets.
 
Point Loma (1-0 overall) next travels to play at Azusa Pacific on Saturday in a matchup between the two teams tied atop the PacWest Preseason Poll.
 
Doubles play in Azusa is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
