(SAN DIEGO) After winning the LA Spring Kickoff, PLNU Women's Golf and
Allie Nguyen swept the PacWest weekly awards announced on Wednesday.
Point Loma earned PacWest Team of the Week honors, while Nguyen was named the conference's Golfer of the Week.
Nguyen won the LA Spring Kickoff with a five-under score for the tournament. Entering the final round in a three-way tie for first at one-under, Nguyen shot a four-under 68 to run away with the individual victory by three strokes.
She birdied three-straight holes (14-16) while carding four birdies and no bogeys on the day.
Nguyen had two teammates also finish in the top-five, with
Bella Gunasayan place third and
Annika Yturralde tying for fourth.
Point Loma won the team title by 18 strokes over second-placed Cal State Monterey Bay, extending its eight-shot lead going into the day after shooting four-under in the final round.
PLNU, which finished ahead of six fellow PacWest schools, has now won a tournament in four-straight seasons.
Point Loma next competes at the Pioneer Shootout Feb. 23-24 at Corica Park South in Oakland.
