Perla Conde Vendrell became PLNU Women's Tennis' first ever PacWest Newcomer of the Year recipient, as the All-PacWest Teams were announced on Tuesday evening.
Alina Kupfer leads Point Loma's three All-PacWest singles representatives, being selected to the First Team after earning Second Team honors a season ago.
Emely Valencia Andrejeva and Conde Vendrell were named to the Second Team.
Point Loma also had its top two doubles pairings voted to the All-PacWest Doubles Second Team, with Kupfer / Conde Vendrell and Valencia Andrejeva /
Anna Pallencaoe receiving the recognition.
Kupfer, the ITA West Regional singles champion, has gone 11-5 at No. 1 singles this season. She and Conde Vendrell are a combined 14-1 at No. 2 doubles and enter the postseason on a 12-match winning streak.
Conde Vendrell is 14-4 in singles, with 13 of those victories coming at No. 4.
Valencia Andrejeva, the ITA West Region Most Improved Player last season, has made another jump this year and is 12-4 in singles, with six wins apiece at No. 2 and No. 3.
PLNU's No. 1 doubles pairing of Valencia Andrejeva and Pallencaoe, the ITA West Regional doubles runner-ups, has gone 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Point Loma (15-3 overall) takes a four-match winning streak into this week's PacWest Championships in Surprise, Arizona.
The Sea Lions are the No. 2 seed and will play No. 7 seed Biola on Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinals at 1 p.m.
