(SAN DIEGO) The NCAA Division II Women's Tennis West Regional is returning to The Point for the third straight season.
Point Loma was announced on Monday evening as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA West Regional and will host No. 3 seed Hawai'i Pacific on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
PLNU and HPU will play on the PLNU Tennis Courts with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championships in Surprise, Ariz. (May 19-23).
The Sea Lions and Sharks are matching up in the regional for the fourth time in the last five years, with HPU claiming the first two before PLNU won an epic 4-3 match a season ago.
The two teams have played twice this season, with the Sea Lions winning 5-2 on Apr. 3 followed by a 4-2 victory in the PacWest semifinals on Apr. 16.
Point Loma (17-4 overall) is making a program record fifth consecutive NCAA postseason appearance and is seeking a second straight trip to the NCAA Championships after reaching the national quarterfinals last year.
