SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Cal State San Marcos scored two goals just 14 minutes into the match and then held on for a 2-0 win over the Point Loma men's soccer team on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
The first goal came in the 13th minute on a header by Eric Poez. One minute later the Cougars (3-5-3) tacked on another goal on a header off a corner kick. Alex Brunsell was credited with an assist on both goals.
The Sea Lions (2-11-0) had a few chances to score with two shots on goal per half.
Dylan Wingrove and
Daniel ten Bosch led the way with two shots and one shot on goal apiece.
Keith Cline had six saves in his first start of the season in goal.
The men's soccer team will return to PacWest play next Tuesday (Oct. 23) when they travel to Azusa Pacific for a 5:00 p.m. match.
