SAN DIEGO -- NAIA No. 7 Point Loma Nazarene was swept by visiting NCAA DII No. 21 Grand Canyon 9-0 Thursday afternoon. The non-conference setback drops the Sea Lions to 1-3 on the year while the 'Lopes improved to 7-1.
Grand Canyon claimed all the points it would need in singles play. The last match decided was on court two where an injured Greg De Andrande fell in a three-set tie-breaker.
De Andeande was unable to compete in doubles but the match was already decided at that point.
PLNU returns to GSAC play on Saturday when Biola pays the team a visit. That match starts at 11:00 am.
