WHAT'S HAPPENING:
The Point Loma men's basketball team will host three Pacific West Conference teams this week to close out its five-game homestand. The Sea Lions will welcome in Academy of Art on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Dominican will then come to town on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 4:00 p.m., and Notre Dame de Namur on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma is 3-13 on the season (0-8 PacWest). The Sea Lions lead the PacWest in scoring defense at 58.3 ppg. They are second in the conference in both field goal percentage defense (.402) and 3-point percentage defense (.294).
Todd Campbell leads the Sea Lions with 7.9 points per game. He recorded PLNU's second double-double of the season in Point Loma's last game against Holy Names with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He is now averaging 2.0 assists and 5.2 rebounds to go along with his 7.9 ppg.
AJ Ussery ranks 10th in the conference with 6.6 rpg and sixth with 1.3 blocks. Ussery also leads PLNU with 2.5 assists.
Oivind Lundestad is the Sea Lions' top threat from the outside. He is hitting .382 percent of his shots from behind the arc.
A LOOK AT ACADEMY OF ART:
The Urban Knights are 5-10 on the season and 3-5 in the PacWest. They are currently trailing Notre Dame de Namur by half a game for the sixth and final spot in the PacWest basketball tournament. Ameer Shamsud-din leads three student-athletes in double-figures for AAU with 16.7 ppg. Alex Carmon is averaging 13.4 ppg and shooting 47 percent coming off the bench. Bryan Fisher is ranked second in the league in assists (4.5) and third in steals (1.9) to go along with his 10.3 ppg. As a team, AAU averages 72.6 ppg and shoots 46 percent from the field.
A LOOK AT DOMINICAN:
The Dominican Penguins are 10-7 on the season and hold the No. 4 spot in race for the PacWest conference tournament with a 6-3 record. They have won three of their last four games, including beating BYU-Hawaii. Devin Golston leads DU with 12.8 ppg and 5.6 rpg. He is shooting 51 percent from the field and 76 percent at the free throw line. Jammall Clark is also averaging double-figures for the Penguins with 10.7 ppg. Dominican ranks fifth in the PacWest with 75.9 ppg, and fourth in 3-point percentage at 37.8 percent.
A LOOK AT NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR:
The Argonauts hold the sixth seed in the race for the PacWest tournament with a 4-5 record in conference (5-12 overall). Last week they lost three straight home games after opening the homestand with a win over Hawaii Hilo. Wesley White and Micah Dunhour lead NDNU in scoring with 12.1 and 12.2 ppg, respectively. White is also the Argonauts' rebounding leader and ranks sixth in the conference with 7.2 boards per game. He is also fifth in blocked shots with 1.4 rejections per game. As a team, NDNU leads only PLNU in scoring offense with 60.3 ppg.
NEXT UP:
Following these three games the Sea Lions will head on the road for their first-ever trip to the four Hawaii schools that play in the PacWest Conference. They will open with Hawaii Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 9, then take on BYU-Hawaii on Monday, Feb. 11. PLNU will then face Chaminade on Wednesday (Feb. 13) before closing out the road trip with Hawaii Hilo on Saturday (Feb. 16).
