SAN FRANCISCO - Four Sea Lions recorded double-figure kills as a balanced offensive attack led the Point Loma volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-13, 20-25 and 25-11 win over Academy of Art on Friday, Sept. 20.
This was the second straight win for PLNU (8-3, 2-0 PacWest) to start Pacific West Conference play. The loss drops AAU to 4-6 on the season and to 0-2 in the PacWest.
Delaney McCraney led Point Loma with 13 kills while also adding 10 digs to register her fifth double-double of the season.
Alyssa Dwyer continues to be the model of offensive consistency for PLNU. She had 12 kills and just one error in 21 swings for a .524 hitting percentage to lead the Sea Lions.

mcKensey Wise also turned in a very efficient match by hammering down 10 kills in 20 attempts for a .400 hitting percentage.
Kelli LeClair paced the Sea Lions on defense with 22 digs and also added 10 kills for her fifth double-double of the season.
Savannah Wedemeyer also added a match-high 44 assists for PLNU. Â
Point Loma quickly jumped on the Urban Knights in the match by taking each of the first two sets in comfortable fashion. In the third set AAU proved it would not go out quietly. With the match tied at 15-15 the Urban Knights would go on to take 10 of the next 15 points to push the match to a fourth set.
In the fourth set PLNU seized the chance to finish off the Urban Knights. The Sea Lions jumped on top 6-0 behind
Savannah Wedemeyer's serves to open the set. They would build their lead to 12 points (17-5) in the middle of the match before settling on the 14-point margin of victory (25-11).
Point Loma will close out its Bay Area trip on Saturday against Holy Names starting at 7:00 p.m.
