SAN MARCOS - Cal State San Marcos jumped on the Point Loma men's soccer team with three goals in the first half and carried that to a 4-1 victory in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
 
Thor English, Scott Rice and Sullivan Tobin all knocked in goals in the first half to stake the Cougars (13-3-0) to the early advantage. Yuki Hata would add another goal in the second half to extend the lead to 4-0 before Matt Rose put the Sea Lions on the board in the 73rd minute with a penalty kick.
 
The loss drops the Sea Lions to 6-9-2 on the season. Avrin Yakou had four saves for the Sea Lions while Landon Sherwood had three for Cal State San Marcos.
 
Point Loma will close out its season on Saturday, Nov. 8 at California Baptist. The match will start at 11:00 a.m.
