Box Score SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma men's soccer team got the point it needed in its season opener by earning a 1-1 tie with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Thursday, Sept. 4.

The Sea Lions (0-0-1) found themselves down 1-0 late in the second half before
Daniel ten Bosch answered with the equalizer off a cross from
Matt Rose in the 81st minute. Ten Bosch set up on the far side of the net and the pass traveled to him perfectly through the air allowing him to kick the ball right out of the sky and into the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1.

The match would end in a tie after the second overtime period. PLNU had the best chance to score in overtime when
Jonathan Tiggs left a drop pass to an onrushing
Eduardo Gallardo but his shot sailed just over the net.

Arvin Yakou made four saves in his first career start with the Sea Lions. His counterpart Chase Gentry had five saves.
