A look at the Sea LionsThe Sea Lions are 1-2-1 going into their match against Dixie State to open PacWest play. The PLNU men's soccer team has not played a match since Sept. 12 when it walked away with a tie 1-1 against Sonoma State. The scheduled match against UC San Diego (Sept. 15) was canceled due to rain.

The Sea Lions have five goals on the season, but is looking for their first win since their opener against Cal State Dominguez Hills, where they scored three goals and shut out the Toros. Junior
Nico Tagaloa leads the team with two goals, followed by freshman
Patrice Glaser, senior
Manu Montal and sophomore Eddie Gallardo, with one goal apiece. Glaser is also leading the team with two assists.
Michael Lambert has earned the team's only shutout, and leads the squad with seven saves. He has started three of the four matches.

The Sea Lions are averaging 1.25 goals per game and outshooting their opponents 52-29. On defense, the Sea Lions have allowed four goals in four games.

A look at the Red StormDixie State will face the Sea Lions at home on Saturday after opening PacWest play on Thursday against Azusa Pacific. The Red Storm enter the weekend with a 2-1-0 record overall. Six different student-athletes have scored this season for the Red Storm including seniors Santiago Alejandro and Jorge Echavarria. As a team, DSC averages 2.0 goals per game. Goalkeeper Bradley Trella has a .786 save percentage and is allowing 1.0 goals per game.

Under new coach Josh Pittman, the Red Storm will look to improve on their record against the Sea Lions; they have gone 1-2 all-time against the Sea Lions. PLNU has won each of the past two meetings, including a 1-0 decision at Point Loma last season.
