This Week
This week, Point Loma men's soccer plays two matches: the last matches of their three-match homestand. The Sea Lions welcome the Hawai'i Pacific Sharks to The Point on Monday, Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. PLNU will then travel to St. George, Utah on Saturday, Oct. 21 to play Dixie State. The contest against the Trailblazers kicks off at 6 p.m PST.

A look at the Sea Lions
PLNU men's soccer walks into their next matches with a 8-2-2 record. Coming off of a 3-0 win over Hawaii Hilo the Sea Lions (8-2-2, 5-0-2 PacWest) are standing third in conference with 17 points, just behind conference leaders Notre Dame de Namur (19 points) and No. 6 California Baptist (19 points).
Junior goalkeeper Wiktor Lasota remains No.1 in conference for shutouts (seven), goals against average (0.524), and save percentage (0.878). Lasota also sits among the national leaders, ranking No. 7 in shutouts and No. 10 in both save percentage and goals against average. Freshman midfielder Tim Siegfried is ranked seventh in conference for game-winning goals (0.200), just ahead of junior forward Indiana Fuller (tenth, 0.167). Fuller paces the team with eight points, senior midfielder Chris Reingen is just behind him with seven points. Eddie Gallardo and Siegfried are next with six points.
As a team, Point Loma men's soccer continues to dominate the conference in shutout percentage (0.64), save percentage (0.870) and goals against average (0.524). The Sea Lions rank top 10 nationally for all three categories.
A look at the Sharks
Hawai'i Pacific (4-6-2, 2-5-1 PacWest) is tied for eighth in the conference alongside Holy Names and Azusa Pacific (seven points). The Sharks' contest against the Sea Lions will be the last of their three-match series in California (Oct. 11-16). HPU is sixth in conference in shots per game (5.69) and fourth in points per game (4.77). Senior forward Josch Cuerten ranks third in shots per game (4.18), fifth in points per game (1.82) and fourth in goals per game (.818).
A look at the Trailblazers
Despite an impressive overall season record, Dixie State (9-2-0, 5-2-0 PacWest) is tied with Concordia for fourth in the conference. The Trailblazers and the Eagles share 15 points. The defending conference champs started the season with a bang, with seven straight wins, three of those on their home turf. Sophomore forward Moises Medina and senior forward Ather Dawood pace the team, tied for fourth in conference in game-winning goals (three). The Trailblazers average 4.83 points per game with 1.66 goals per game.
Next Games
Point Loma welcomes Concordia to the southwest on Thursday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. This is also Senior Day for the Sea Lions. Seniors Christopher Tellez, Mitch Wheelon, Chris Reingen, Tanner Akol, Will Cline, Eduardo Gallardo and Sean Williams will be playing their final match at the PLNU soccer field. After, PLNU will hit the road for their final three regular season matches, beginning with an Oct. 28th contest against Biola, in La Mirada, Calif. at 7 p.m.
