WOMEN'S GOLF COMPLETES 36 HOLES IN ONE DAY

VISTA, Calif.
- The Point Loma women's golf team doubled down and played 36 holes of golf to complete the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational in one day (Mar. 9). The tournament was condensed due to the threat of rain that is expected on Tuesday.
 
Three Sea Lions finished in the top 20 with Alli Kim leading the way with a 153 (+9) to tie for 13th. She shot a 77 (+5) on the first 18 holes and a 76 (+4) on the second 18. Summer Marshall tied for 16th with a 154 (+10). She jumped out to the early lead in the tournament by shooting a 1-under through the first 9 before posting her best finish of the season. Christine Perez was just one stroke back and finished tied for 18th with a 155 (+11). She was consistent throughout the tournament with a 77 (+5) in the first round and a 78 (+6) in the second.
 
As a team, Point Loma placed 13th with a 670 (+94). Cal State San Marcos won their invitational with a 578 (+2). The Cougars' Jaime Jacob won the tournament by seven strokes with a 137 (-7).
 
The Point Loma women's golf team will turn right around and play in the Mikuni Sushi Shootout in Rocklin, Calif., on Monday, Mar. 16.
