GREENE HIRED AS PLNU WOMEN'S GOLF HEAD COACH

6/17/2026 10:00:00 AM

(SAN DIEGO) Miranda Greene has been hired as PLNU Women's Golf Head Coach ahead of the 2026-27 season, effective immediately, as announced by Point Loma Athletic Director Jordan Courneya.

Greene comes to The Point after spending the last two seasons as the Associate Head Coach for the women's golf team at NCAA Division I University of Minnesota.

"We are thrilled to welcome Miranda Greene as the next head coach of our Women's Golf program," Courneya said. "Miranda brings a unique blend of experience from both the NCAA Division II and Division I levels, along with a proven track record of developing successful student-athletes and competitive programs.

"Throughout the search process, her passion for mentoring young women, commitment to building meaningful relationships, and enthusiasm for leading a Christ-centered program were evident."

At Minnesota, Greene's Golden Gophers were ranked as high as No. 42 nationally and she coached individual qualifiers for the NCAA Regionals in both seasons. That included two regional qualifiers in 2025-26, when Greene also coached Isabella McCauley to an NCAA Championships appearance.

"I am honored to be named the next Head Women's Golf Coach at Point Loma Nazarene University," Greene said. "I would like to sincerely thank Athletic Director Jordan Courneya and everyone involved in the search process for their trust, confidence and belief in me.

"Point Loma Nazarene University is a truly special place both in its history and location. I am excited to build on the strong foundation of this program and continue fostering a culture of excellence."

Prior to her time at Minnesota, Greene was an assistant coach for one season at NCAA Division II Regis University, coaching the first individual women's conference champion in program history while helping the women's team to its second-best scoring average in a single season and the men's program to its seventh-best scoring average all-time.

"Miranda's vision for the future of our program aligns perfectly with our mission of developing student-athletes who excel in competition, the classroom, and their faith," Courneya said. "We are excited for the leadership, energy, and championship mindset she will bring to Point Loma and look forward to seeing the impact she will have on our student-athletes and the continued growth of our program."

Greene also coached the men's and women's teams at her alma mater Flagler College during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, coaching a pair of All-Americans and seven All-Conference selections, including the Conference Player of the Year. She recruited the class that earned the Flagler women its highest national ranking (No. 2) in program history.

As a player, Greene starred for the Saints, earning All-Peach Belt Conference honors on three occasions, including twice being named to the First Team.

After graduating from Flagler with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, Greene went on to earn her Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from Florida International, where she served for two years as a graduate assistant coach.

"I would also like to thank Matt Higgins, our student-athletes, and the entire staff at the University of Minnesota for their support, mentorship and the opportunities they provided me during my time there," Greene said. "I am grateful for the relationships and experiences that have helped shape me as a coach and person.

I can't wait to get to Point Loma, pour into our student-athletes and begin building meaningful relationships throughout the community. Go Sea Lions!"

Greene, a Bellbrook, Ohio native, is also a Class A LPGA Teaching professional.
