The four-game series between Concordia and Point Loma will begin this Friday, March 19. The first pitch for Friday's doubleheader at Point Loma is scheduled to start at noon. Saturday's doubleheader, which will be played at Concordia, is scheduled for first pitch at 1 p.m.

A look at the Sea Lions
This weekend will mark the first games conference games for the Sea Lions in 2021. The Sea Lions will look to bounce back after a series loss to Vanguard two weekends ago. Izayah Alvarez continues to collect base hit after base hit as he looks to improve his 15-game hitting streak.

Baxter Halligan leads all qualified hitters in batting average (.417), slugging percentage (.750), on-base percentage (.563), and OPS (1.313). Easton Waterman sits just behing Halligan hitting .400. Nathan Garkow paces the starting pitchers in ERA (1.50), WHIP (.17), and strikeouts (8). Zack Noll sits just behind Garkow in WHIP (.60) and strikeouts (7). The freshmen class has made a strong impact right away as the three top pitchers (sorted by earned run average) are each freshman. Dylan Miller, Cole Hillier, and Hunter Otjen each carry a 0.00 ERA.  

A look at the Concordia Eagles
The Eagles enter this weekend series without a record, marking it as their first games of the 2021 season. Concordia had a 17-7 record before the 2020 season got cut short.

The Eagles will return their top three hitters from the 2020 season in Matt Lautz, Cooper Moore, and Haloa Dudoit. The trio combined to go 180-515 (.350), with 29 doubles, six triples, and nine home runs.

Concordia returns just two of five of their top pitchers from a year ago (sorted by earned run average). Starting pitcher Mike Killeen was second on the team with a 3.86 ERA in seven appearances, he also started in six games. Carpenter Pagett also held a 3.86 ERA while striking out six.
