Editor's Note: Original story has been updated with All-Region awards announced on Nov. 17.

Senior Courtney Dyer repeated as PacWest Libero of the Year and outside hitter Abigail Nua was named PacWest Freshman of the Year, highlighting a record awards haul for PLNU Volleyball.

Dyer and Nua were also selected to the All-PacWest First Team and D2CCA All-West Region First Team. Junior outside hitter Torina Hommes joined Dyer and Nua on the All-PacWest First Team, while junior middle blocker Grace Hicks represented the Sea Lions on the All-PacWest Second Team.

The three First Team All-Conference honorees is tied for the program's most in its PacWest era, along with the 2013 squad, while PLNU's four All-PacWest recipients is tied with the 2013 and 2014 teams for the program's most.

Dyer is the second-ever Sea Lion to repeat as a PacWest special award winner, joining Cara Keturakis who was twice named PacWest Setter of the Year (2013, 14). She is the first to win three in-a-row, having also won the award in the Covid-shortened 2020 season.

The Chandler, Arizona native once again led the conference in digs (553) and digs/set (5.32), while also ranking first in the West Region in the same categories.

The fifth-year libero broke PLNU's program record for career digs, finishing her stellar career with 2,272 digs, the fourth-most in PacWest history. She also now holds the program-best mark for service aces in its NCAA era (157), just one shy of the PacWest record.

"She's had a terrific career with a great deal of consistency and dominating the record books," Head Coach Jonathan Scott said of Dyer. "She's going to be tough to replace next season."

Nua is Point Loma's second-ever PacWest Freshman of the Year, joining Rachael Schlect (2018).

The freshman outside hitter led the conference in kills (469), kills/set (4.51), points (535) and points/set (5.14). She ranks second in the West Region in both kills/set (seventh in NCAA DII) and points/set (fifth in NCAA DII).

The Lakewood, Colorado native led Point Loma in kills in all but three matches, recording double-digit kills in 26 out of 28 contests and 20-plus kills on nine occasions.

"It's not easy doing what she's done and I'm just excited to get back into the gym and continue training with her," Scott said.

Hommes was PLNU's most-efficient attacker with a .315 attack %, which ranked fourth in the PacWest. She also finished fourth in the PacWest in blocks/set (1.00), while leading the Sea Lions with 96 total blocks.

"She was hungry for this," Scott said of Hommes. "I'm happy for her that she achieved something difficult."

Hicks, like Hommes, ranked in the top-10 in the PacWest in both hitting % and blocks/set. Hicks hit an efficient .264 to rank eighth in the conference, while finishing ninth with 0.89 blocks/set.

"She was such an integral part of this team's success both on and off the court," Scott said of Hicks. "Her leadership was especially exceptional."

Point Loma finished the season 20-8 overall (15-5 PacWest), its most wins since 2015, to record its best-ever PacWest finish of second place.
