The 4000 Distance Medley Relay team finished third with a 12:40.17 while the 4x100 squad finished fourth, but not far off the top three, combining for 10 more of PLNU's total.
"We had a lots of personal bests today." Point Loma Head Coach
Jerry Arvin said. "They improved. Almost all of the girls felt really good about their performances."
The Women's 4000 squad was filled with great performances.
"I thought they ran real well." Arvin said. "
Logan Williams had a solid leadoff leg. Worley had the best leg maybe out of everyone and then Aubrey brought us back from 5
th to 3
rd. The girls ran real well. Most of our performances were really impressive since its first time since we competed anywhere but Azusa in two years."
And that competition filtered in throughout the day.
"We saw a lot of good days even though some didn't place." Arvin said. "We did a good job and competed well. We have a great point of reference to get to our next step where we want to be."
Chirgwin's performance certainly helped set the tone.
"Anessa was really happy the way her throws came out that well." Arvin added. "That was a really good opening for her. She is picking up right where she left off."
But for the most part Point Loma was just happy to see where they stacked up.
"We didn't have to go through the protocols. We could congregate and talk to opposing teams." Arvin added. "The girls appreciated that. We have a happy feeling and excitement of what the next 10 meets are going to bring."
The next of those ten meets for Point Loma is the San Diego Challenge Meet in two weeks, Friday March 11
th, hosted by UCSD.
