COLE JOINS COACHING STAFF OF ALMA MATER

6/20/2026 9:00:00 AM

(SAN DIEGO) Reagan Cole is staying on The Point.

After the Sea Lions speedster graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Performance, Cole will remain at Point Loma as a Track & Field Assistant Coach.

"Reagan has been such a gift to this program," Associate Head Coach Avery Takata said. "It's always hard to graduate seniors, but we had a feeling Reagan wasn't done yet.

"When we asked some of the younger athletes what went into the success of their seasons, many of them mentioned Reagan's leadership, so we are so thankful that she will be returning to help lead this program as we continue to pursue excellence in our sport."

Cole finished her Sea Lions career ranked third all-time in program history in the 400-meter hurdles (60.78 seconds) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.52 seconds). She is also ninth among Sea Lions all-time in the 100 meters (12.21 seconds).

"I am honored and excited to rejoin the PLNU track family, this time as a coach," Cole said. "Point Loma holds a special place in my heart and I'm excited to have the opportunity to contribute to a program that has done so much for me."

As a senior in 2026, Cole finished second at the PacWest Championships in both the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400 meter relay to earn All-PacWest honors in both events.

Cole was voted by her peers as the Female Future Coach Award winner at the 10th Annual Sea Lion Athletic Merit (S.L.A.M.) Awards.

The Bakersfield native is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Management at Point Loma.

PLNU Women's Track & Field is coming off a fourth-place finish at the PacWest Championships, its best since 2019 and since the conference expanded.
