4/15/2022 11:07:00 PM

AZUSA, Calif.-Despite a crowded field with the most entries of any meet they participated in this season, the Point Loma Sea Lions delivered more than a handful of season and personal bests at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday.

Anessa Chirgwin's 45.42-meter discus landed in 5th place. The top three finishers were all over 50 meters in the deepest field the Sea Lions have competed in this year.

Makenna Sullivan led a pair of Sea Lions in a crowded field in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.43, her best time of the year. Nica Zsiros was five places behind her with a 17.24.

Madelynn Worley's was the lone Sea Lion to rep PLNU in the 400-meter dash but did so with a season-best 57.41 on Saturday.

Similarly, Blanca Granados was the lone PLNU runner in the 100-meter dash, finishing in the middle of the pack at 12.28, delivering her season-best time in the event.

Charis Johnston and Katelyn Muniz were just off their marks in the 400-meter hurdles

Point Loma's 400-meter relay finished in 15th place with a time of 48.40, improving on their time by two hundredths from a week ago for their best finish of the season.

Point Loma will now focus their training for the PacWest Championships held on the PLNU Track on April 29th and 30th.
