JIM BOND ELECTED TO SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME

Kansas City, MO – Small College Basketball and the National Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce the National Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Once again, this year's class is made up of some of the greatest coaches, players, and contributors to Small College Basketball. The 2022 class
includes the following members (Bios included at the bottom of the release):

Class of 2022:
"Congratulations to the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2022! What an outstanding, highly-qualified, highly-impressive Hall of Fame Class! I am so happy for each of them and their families, and I am grateful to our Hall of Fame Committee for a tremendous amount of time, research and insight."
This years National Hall of Fame Class marks the sixth class inducted into the Small College Basketball National Hall of Fame. The National Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday November 4th inside the Polk Theatre in Lakeland, FL.

Small College Basketball National Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Bio's

Jim Bond, Pasadena College

Led Pasadena College to two NAIA District 3 Championships (1957 & 1958). Two-time NAIA First Team All-American 1956 & 1958. Averaged 19.5 points and 19.1 rebounds for his college career. In1958 NAIA National Tournament in two games - averaged 23.5 points and 21.5 rebounds. As 20-year old sophomore was selected both Most Promising Young Player and MVP of the 1956 National AAU Tournament in an Olympic year. Held B.H. Born- Kansas University 6'9" Center and MVP of the 1953 NCAA Tournament to 4 points- Bond scored 17 and had 20 rebounds. Held Don Schlundt - Indiana University 6'10" Center and 3-time All-American to 1 point - Bond scored 17 and had 20 rebounds.
Bond was picked up by the Phillips 66ers for the 1956 Olympic Trials. Phillips 66ers won the Olympic Trials and Bond was selected as an alternate on the 1956 USA Olympic Team. Bond was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers in the same draft as Elgin Baylor. Bond turned down an opportunity to play professional basketball to go to seminary and study for the ministry.Bond is a member of five Hall of Fames- Texas Basketball Hall of Fame, National High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Pasadena College Hall of Fame, Texas Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame and the NAIA Hall of Fame.
