(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Associate Athletic Director for Communications
Tim Heiduk has earned the College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30 Award, as announced by the CSC on Monday.
The award recognizes emerging athletics communications professionals at all levels of college sports in strategic, creative and digital spaces.
"It's truly humbling to receive this prestigious award and a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside the other awardees," Heiduk said. "It's a personal and professional privilege to work in collegiate athletics, and to share the stories and highlight the accomplishments of so many deserving student-athletes, coaches and teams."
Heiduk joined the Point Loma Athletics staff in July 2022, leading PLNU to the PacWest Sports Information Department of the Year award in each of the past two years (2023-24, 2024-25).
In 2023-24, he won two CSC Fred Stabley Jr. writing contests, placing first in the District 8 College Division categories of Best Season Preview and Best Event Coverage.
For the past two years, Heiduk has served as a mentor in the CSC Mentorship Program, a national and regional voter for the CSC Division II Women's Basketball Media Poll, and a regional voter for the NCBWA Baseball Poll. In June 2025, he spoke on a "Maximizing Your Budget" panel at the CSC Unite Conference before serving on the PacWest Strategic Positioning Committee beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
Heiduk oversees athletics communications for all 11 Point Loma programs while also managing the Point Loma athletics website and social media channels.
From 2020-22, Heiduk earned 12 awards across four different categories in the NAIA-SIDA Media & Publications Contest, including five in 2021-22. The year prior, he won first place for entries in "Feature Stories" and "Season Preview/Review." He has also received recognition in the "Game Recaps" and "Call of the Year" categories.
"I'm incredibly blessed to work at Point Loma and feel so lucky to have been hired by Athletic Director Ethan Hamilton," Heiduk said. "While Ethan is sadly no longer with us, his legacy and impact live on, and he will never be forgotten. We continue to honor him as best we can in stewarding the athletic department that he built."
