After leading PLNU Volleyball to its first-ever PacWest title, Head Coach Jonathan Scott was named the PacWest Coach of the Year, highlighting yet another record awards haul for Point Loma.

Five Sea Lions earned All-PacWest honors, setting a new program record, a year after PLNU tied its previous high of four.

Junior Anna Massari, sophomore Abigail Nua and senior Torina Hommes were all named to the First Team, while seniors Claire Smith and Grace Hicks received Second Team recognition.

Massari, a three-time PacWest Defender of the Week this season, leads the conference in blocks (132) and ranks third in hitting % (.329).

Her 1.32 blocks/set rank sixth in NCAA Division II, while her 132 blocks is the eighth-most in a single season in program history. She twice tallied double-digit blocks, including a season-high of 11 on Sep. 23 at Hawai'i Hilo, which is tied-for-ninth most ever in a single match by a Sea Lion.

Offensively, the 2021 All-PacWest honoree is third on the team in kills with 233, posting double-digit kills in nine matches, including a season-high 19 against APU on Oct. 3.

Nua and Hommes earn First Team All-PacWest honors for the second-straight season after both were named to this year's Preseason All-PacWest Team.

Both players received a PacWest Player of the Week award and rank in the top-10 in the conference in multiple categories.

Nua, the 2022 PacWest Freshman of the Year, is fifth in the conference in both kills (304) and points/set (3.80). She leads the team in kills and is second in digs (261).

This season she has posted 11 double-doubles, reaching double-digit kills 19 times and double figures in digs in 14 matches. Her season-highs are 25 kills (Oct. 10 vs. Westmont) and 25 digs (Nov. 18 vs. Concordia).

Hommes ranks sixth in the PacWest in hitting % (.321), service aces (40) and points (350.5), as well as seventh in blocks/set (0.93).

She also leads the PacWest champions in service aces, points and solo blocks (19), while second on PLNU in kills (254), hitting % and total blocks (94).

The fifth-year has recorded double-digit kills in 11 matches, including on Senior Day against Concordia when she set career-highs of 28 kills and 13 digs in the final match of the regular season.

Smith ranks 10th in the PacWest in hitting % (.285).

She is third on the team in blocks (76), while tallying the fourth-most kills (189) and points (230) among Sea Lions this season.

The Scottsdale, Arizona native has reached double-digit kills in five matches, posting season-highs of 15 kills (Oct. 10 vs. Biola) and seven blocks (Oct. 28 vs. Chaminade).

Hicks, a two-time team captain, earns Second Team honors for the second-straight year.

This season, she has accrued 131 kills on an efficient .250 attack %. She ranks third on the team in solo blocks (7), fourth in total blocks (51) and fifth in points (161).
