(LA JOLLA, Calif.) For the first time in 32 years, PLNU Track & Field has a new 100-meter program record holder.

Madelynn Worley broke the Point Loma record at the UCSD Triton Invite on Saturday, running a time of 11.94 seconds.

In a race filled with NCAA Division I athletes, Worley finished eighth out of 59 runners, becoming the only Sea Lion ever to break 12 seconds in the event.

The previous record of 12.04 seconds was held by Dzifa Mac-Kwashie since 1992.

Worley also ran 25.00 seconds on the dot in the 200 meters, placing 13th out of 86, just .01 seconds off her career-best time.

In the 800 meters,
Aubrie Nex finished third out of 72 in a season-best time of 2:12.17.

Nex and Worley were both on a 4x400 meter relay that placed third in a time of 3:56.16.

Eliana Perks was 10th out of 37 in the 5,000 meters in a career-best 18:48.00, while
Elizabeth Satterlee (4:50.47) finished 12th out of 83 in the 1500 meters.

Point Loma will next compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday-Saturday in its final meet before the PacWest Championships (April 26-27).
