(SAN DIEGO) Former PLNU Baseball pitcher Nate Garkow has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
Garkow has played the last two seasons for the Gateway Grizzlies in the Frontier League.
This year, the former PLNU standout is 3-0 with a 1.72 ERA over 17 appearances, striking out 37 batters in 15.2 innings. That included holding opponents scoreless and hitless in his first 11 outings.
That comes off the heels of a stellar 2022-23 campaign, when he compiled a 7-2 record and 3.80 ERA in 40 appearances, striking out 60 batters in 47.1 innings.
While at Point Loma, Garkow was a key member of the Sea Lions first-ever PacWest championship team that finished as national runner-up in 2022.
He earned All-PacWest honors in 2019, pitching to a 3.53 ERA and a 6-3 record in 66.1 innings.
Garkow finished his time on The Point with a career ERA of 4.30 and with 201 strikeouts in 186.1 innings pitched.
