(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Baseball designated hitter
Jake Entrekin earned his second All-American award of the year on Wednesday, this time from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Entrekin was voted to the D2CCA All-American First Team, becoming the third Sea Lion to earn First Team All-American recognition by two separate organizations in the same season, joining Baxter Halligan (2022) and
James Sashin (2024).
The San Diego was previously named to the NCBWA All-American First Team.
Entrekin had a monster season at the plate, batting .402 with 23 home runs and a single-season program record 74 RBIs. He led the West Region in homers, slugging % (.825), on-base % (.524), OPS (1.349) and walks (42).
His 23 homers this year rank second among Sea Lions in any single season, while his batting average is also the second best by any player in the program's NCAA era.
Entrekin concludes his career as Point Loma's all-time career leader in home runs (49) and RBIs (194). He is also third in program history in career runs scored (156), tied for sixth in career hits (226), eighth in career batting average (.360) and 10th in career doubles (38).
Point Loma made a fourth straight NCAA West Regional appearance this year, posting a 39-18 overall record, and finishing one game shy of the Super Regionals.
