Jake Entrekin and
Luke Reece were both voted to the ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-West Region First Team, as announced on Wednesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Both Entrekin and Reece were selected to the All-West Region First Team for all three organizations that announce postseason awards (NCBWA, D2CCA, ABCA).
Entrekin, who was previously named a First Team All-American by the NCBWA and D2CCA, put together one of the best offensive seasons by a Sea Lion in program history.
On the year, Entrekin batted .402 (ninth all-time at PLNU) with 23 home runs (second all-time) and 74 RBIs (program record). His 65 runs scored are the third most in a single season in program history, while his 42 walks rank fourth among Sea Lions all-time in a season.
The designated hitter led the West Region this season in homers, slugging % (.825), on-base % (.524), OPS (1.349) and walks.
Reece put together an outstanding season in his own right, with his .366 batting average, 57 runs scored, .600 slugging %, 1.045 OPS and 56 RBIs all ranking second on the team. The second baseman also blasted 10 home runs with three multi-homer games.
His 18 doubles are seventh most by a Sea Lion in a single season all-time, while his 57 runs scored this year rank 10th in program history.
Point Loma finished the season with a 39-18 overall record, reaching an NCAA West Regional for the fourth straight season.
