Abigail Nua repeated as PacWest Player of the Year and
Macy Reynolds was named PacWest Libero of the Year, highlighting another record awards haul for PLNU Volleyball.
Point Loma set a new program record with four First Team All-PacWest selections and tied its previous mark with five total All-Conference honorees.
Nua, Reynolds,
Sophia Baugh and
Jill Leslie were selected to the All-PacWest First Team, while
Saren Rogers earned Second Team honors.
Nua becomes the first Sea Lion in program history and the third PacWest volleyball player ever to win multiple PacWest Player of the Year awards. The senior outside hitter is also the first four-time First Team All-PacWest honoree in program history.
The Lakewood, Colo. once again leads the PacWest in both kills per set and points per set this season, while also ranking third in NCAA Division II in points per set and fourth in kills per set.
Reynolds is the third Sea Lion all-time to be awarded the PacWest Libero of the Year award, as she led the PacWest in total digs (476) and digs per set (5.01) this season. The senior libero was also named PacWest Defender of the Week twice.
Baugh leads the conference in total assists (1,074) and with 11.31 assists per set, 0.95 more than the next-closest PacWest player. The two-time First Team All-Conference selection was named PacWest Player of the Week three times this season.
Leslie, a graduate transfer from Oklahoma Baptist, ranks fifth in the PacWest in hitting % (.343). The middle blocker also ranks second on the team in total blocks (66), as well as third on the team in kills (244) and kills per set (2.46) this year.
Rogers is a Second Team selection for the second-consecutive year. The 2024 PacWest Freshman of the Year is fourth in in the conference in kills (320) and seventh in kills per set (3.23), forming a formidable one-two punch with Nua on the outside.
Point Loma's previous record of First Team honorees was three in 2013, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
PLNU has now had five All-PacWest selections for three-straight seasons.
Point Loma (23-3 overall, 11-1 PacWest) is the No. 1 seed in this week's PacWest Championships in Honolulu and will play No. 4 seed Hawai'i Hilo in Thursday's semifinals at 4:30 p.m. HT / 6:30 p.m. PT.
The winner will advance to Friday's conference tournament championship against either No. 2 seed Fresno Pacific or No. 3 seed Chaminade at 6 p.m. HT / 8 p.m. PT.
