PLNU VOLLEYBALL PLACES TRIO ON ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS

12/10/2025 1:20:00 PM

(SAN DIEGO) Senior outside hitter Abigail Nua was voted the D2CCA Ron Lenz National Player of the Year, highlighting a trio of All-American honorees for PLNU Volleyball.

Junior setter Sophia Baugh and senior libero Macy Reynolds also earned All-American honors, as Point Loma tied a program record for most All-Americans in a single season.

Nua earned First Team All-American honors from both the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Baugh was selected to the AVCA All-American Second Team and the D2CCA All-American Third Team, while Reynolds was voted to the AVCA All-American Third Team.

The awards haul marks the first time that multiple PLNU players have received either First, Second or Third Team All-American recognition.

Nua, the AVCA and D2CCA West Region Player of the Year, is the first Sea Lion to earn National Player of the Year honors and to be recognized as an All-American in four consecutive seasons. Last year, she became PLNU's first ever AVCA First Team All-American.

The back-to-back PacWest Player of the Year leads all West Region players in kills per set (4.84) and points per set (5.40), ranking fourth in all of NCAA Division II in both categories.

Baugh, an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American last season, ranks first in the West Region and seventh nationally in assists per set (11.45).

Reynolds, the PacWest Libero of the Year, leads the West Region in digs per set (5.13), ranking 30th in Division II.

All three were previously selected to both the AVCA and D2CCA All-West Region First Teams, as well as the All-PacWest First Team.

Point Loma (27-4 overall), the NCAA West Regional champions for the first time, play in the national quarterfinals on Thursday against Bentley (27-4) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 9 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. CT.
