(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Basketball point guard
Izzy Navarro was named the PacWest Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Navarro was instrumental in a pair of victories for Point Loma, who was selected as the PacWest Team of the Week after extending its winning streak to eight games and improving to 4-0 in conference play.
In a 61-47 win at Biola on Wednesday, Navarro scored 14 points and added five assists and four steals, as PLNU ended a five-game losing streak in La Mirada.
Then on Saturday, Navarro scored 19 points to go along with nine assists, seven rebounds and three steals, as the Sea Lions gave the Penguins their first loss of the season.
Navarro is the second Sea Lion to earn PacWest Player of the Week honors this year, joining
Ruby Vlahov.
The PLNU point guard ranks second in the conference this season in assists per game (5.6) and sixth in points per game (13.2). She leads the team in both categories.
Point Loma (8-2 overall, 4-0 PacWest) closes out 2025 on Saturday at Azusa Pacific. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
