(NAMPA, Idaho) PLNU Baseball is back in the NCAA postseason to defend its West Regional championship.
Point Loma was announced as the No. 4 seed in the West Regional on Sunday night, as the Sea Lions reach the NCAA postseason for the fourth straight season.
PLNU will travel to Nampa, Idaho to play in a three-team, double-elimination bracket along with No. 1 seed Northwest Nazarene and No. 5 seed Montana State Billings.
One of those three teams will advance to the Super Regionals (May 23-24) against the winner of the other regional site between No. 2 seed Westmont, No. 3 seed Cal State Monterey Bay and No. 6 seed San Francisco State.
Point Loma will play MSU Billings in the first game on Thursday at 1 p.m. PT / 2 p.m. MT. The winner advances to Friday, while the loser will turn around immediately to face off with host and top-seeded NNU at 5 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. MT on Thursday.
MSU Billings (32-20 overall), making its first regional appearance since 2019, placed second in the GNAC regular season and tournament.
NNU (40-13) won both the GNAC regular season and tournament titles, as the Nighthawks will be making a fourth regional trip in the last five seasons.
Point Loma (37-16) is seeking a return trip to the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, North Carolina after winning two of the last three West Region championships.
