(SAN DIEGO) After making a third straight NCAA West Regional appearance for the first time in program history, PLNU Men's Tennis earned a couple ITA West Region awards, as announced on Monday.
David Fisinger was named ITA West Region Rookie of the Year, while
Niclas Goltz was tabbed as the ITA West Region Player to Watch, becoming the first players in program history to earn those respective awards.
It marks the first time PLNU has had multiple Sea Lions win ITA regional awards in the same year.
Fisinger posted an 11-6 singles record this season, playing on Courts No. 3-5. He also went 11-5 in doubles, earning Second Team All-PacWest Doubles honors with partner
Andrew Suver. Fisinger and Suver finished as ITA West Regional doubles runner-up in the fall.
Goltz went 11-8 in singles, playing at mostly No. 2 and No. 3. He also went a team-best 11-4 in doubles with partner
Nabeel Khan.
Point Loma finished the season with a 13-7 overall record.
