(SAN DIEGO) A historic 2024-25 season for PLNU Women's Basketball on the court was equally as impressive in the classroom.
Point Loma accumulated a 3.728 GPA this past academic year, earning the Sea Lions WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll recognition.
PLNU's GPA last year ranked 17th in all of NCAA Division II.
"This ranking in the WBCA Top 25 All-Academic Honor Roll just caps off an exceptional and historic season by the PLNU Women's Basketball team," Head Coach
Charity Elliott said. "Not only did we break records and excel on the floor, but this team dominated in the classroom as well."
The Sea Lions have earned academic recognition from the WBCA in all four of Elliott's seasons at the helm, ranking as high as No. 12 in 2021-22.
"I love that this team is proof to all young girls out there that you can be a great basketball player or athlete and be top of the class as well," Elliott said. "Congratulations to the 2024-25 Sea Lion Women's Basketball team on this tremendous accomplishment! I'm so proud to coach this group of amazing and talented women."
Point Loma, winners of its PacWest regular season and tournament titles last year, is scheduled to begin its 2025-26 season on Nov. 4 with an exhibition at NCAA Division I Long Beach State.
