(SAN DIEGO) For the second straight year, PLNU Volleyball is the preseason favorite to win the PacWest Conference.
Point Loma was picked to finish first in the conference this season, slotting in at No. 1 in the PacWest Preseason Poll, announced on Monday.
PLNU accumulated 163 points total and eight of a possible 13 first place votes, followed closely by Chaminade with 158 points and four first place votes. Fresno Pacific received the other first place vote.
The Sea Lions won a first ever PacWest championship in 2023 with an 18-2 conference record before improving that mark to 19-1 in 2024. However, Point Loma had to settle for second place in the standings behind Chaminade, who went a perfect 20-0 in conference play.
PLNU returns nine players from last season, including PacWest Player of the Year
Abigail Nua (outside hitter), fellow AVCA All-American
