(GOODYEAR, Ariz.) PLNU Women's Golf opened the fall portion of its schedule at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella on Monday morning.
After one round, Point Loma is in seventh place out of 14 teams with a team score of 303.
The five Sea Lions participating are all in the top-25 on the individual leaderboard, led by freshman
Giana Gunasayan, who is tied for 21st in her first collegiate event after shooting a two-over 75.
Gunasayan birdied four of her first seven holes and was in first place through eight holes. Her five birdies on Monday were the second most of any player.
Teammates
Annika Yturralde,
Avery Sky,
Allie Nguyen and
Sofy Guarneros are all tied for 25th after their three-over rounds of 76.
Nguyen shot one-under on par-three holes and Sky recorded two birdies, while Yturralde's 13 pars were tied for fifth most on the day.
The second and final round will take place on Tuesday morning, with Point Loma teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
