(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Golf finished second at the Bulldog Desert Classic in its second tournament of the season.
Playing at Avondale G.C. in Palm Desert, two Sea Lions finished in the top-10 while all five placed in the top-20 individually across the three rounds.
Allie Nguyen (+8) and
Bella Gunasayan (+11) placed eighth and ninth respectively, with
Annika Yturralde (+14) finishing 13th.
Avery Sky (+16) and
Giana Gunasayan (+20) placed 17th and 20th.
PLNU shot 15-under on par-five holes, the best of any team in the tournament by five strokes, as five Sea Lions shot under-par on par-fives.
Nguyen ranked second among all players by shooting five-under on par-fives, and also had the second most pars (36) of any player. Sky led the team with seven birdies.
Point Loma's best round came in round two, shooting 299 as a team to break 300 for the first time in five rounds this season.
The Sea Lions' 162 total pars ranked second among all teams.
Point Loma will play in the East Bay Fall Tournament Oct. 27-28 in its final tournament of the fall season.
