(SAN DIEGO) The reigning PacWest Player of the Year made a major statement of intent during the first weekend of the 2025 volleyball season.

Abigail Nua was named the PacWest Player of the Week on Monday after posting 64 kills across three matches at the San Diego Invitational.
Nua led all players in kills in each of Point Loma's three matches in the tournament.
In a three-set sweep of Emporia State to open the season, Nua tallied 19 kills and nine digs.
Then in a four-set victory over Northwest Nazarene, Nua recorded 19 kills again, while adding seven digs and three aces.
To close out the tournament, Nua posted a double-double with season highs of 26 kills and 15 digs in a five-set defeat to (RV) Cal State San Bernardino.
No. 16 Point Loma (2-1 overall) travels this week to Denver to play in the Colorado Premier Challenge on Friday and Saturday, including high-profile matchups against No. 18 Bentley and No. 8 West Texas A&M.
