(SAN DIEGO) The PacWest leader in steals Izzy Navarro was named the conference's Defender of the Week on Monday.
 
The PLNU Women's Basketball point guard had 12 total steals in two wins last week against Biola and Azusa Pacific, taking her season tally to 64, which is 18 more than the next closest player in the conference.

Navarro recorded five steals in a 76-64 victory over Biola on Tuesday, when she joined the 1,000 Point Club for her collegiate career and helped Point Loma sweep the season series with BU for the first time since 2018-19.
 
She followed that up with seven steals against first-place APU on Saturday, as the Sea Lions posted their largest margin of victory (80-55) against the Cougars in over two decades.
 
Her 3.8 steals per game and 64 steals lead the PacWest and rank fifth in all of NCAA Division II.
 
Navarro also leads the PacWest in assists (104) and assists per game (6.1), while ranking fourth in the country in both categories.
 
The 12.5 points per game scorer was previously named PacWest Player of the Week on Dec. 15.
 
Point Loma (13-4 overall, 9-2 PacWest) travels to Costa Mesa on Saturday to play at first-place Vanguard (12-2, 8-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
