RESULTS
(CLAREMONT, Calif.) PLNU Women's Track & Field put together a record-setting day on Saturday at the Rossi Relays in the team's second meet of the spring season.
Maddi Reeves set a new school record in the 3,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 9:46.48 to place second in the event.
Reeves, who also holds school records in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters, broke the previous 3,000-meter program record held by Lupe Ambriz since 1994 by over three seconds.
The 4x800 meter relay quartet of
Mikayla Horning,
Jocelyn Gibson,
Mia Rodriguez and
Melanie Ramos finished second in a time of 9:16.47.
The 4x100 meter relay team of
Madison Simmers,
Aubrey Montoya,
Lillian Gomez and
Reagan Cole placed third (47.52 seconds).
Freshman
Kate Shintaffer finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 36.93 meters, as did
Skyler Cazale in the triple jump (11.17 meters).
Elizabeth Satterlee set a 17 second personal record in the 3,000 meters (10:16.32).
Point Loma competes next at the Beach Opener on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Long Beach State.
