(SAN DIEGO)
Maddie Reeves was named the PacWest Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after breaking another school record over the weekend.
Reeves ran 16:36.30 to win the 5,000 meters at the UCLA Bob Larsen Distance Carnival, eclipsing her own school record by over eight seconds.
The school record is her second set just this season, after the senior also broke PLNU's 3,000-meter mark on Feb. 28 at the Rossi Relays.
Last season, Reeves also set the school's 10,000-meter record, as her three Point Loma records are the most of any PLNU track & field athlete all-time.
She is the first Sea Lion to be named PacWest Track Athlete of the Week since Aubrie Nex in April 2023.
PLNU Women's Track & Field competes next on Friday and Saturday at the Stanford Invite and UCSD Triton Invite.
