(GOODYEAR, Ariz.) In its final tournament before the PacWest Championships, PLNU Women's Golf finished tied for 13th out of 27 teams at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.
 
Point Loma closed out the first round in a tie for seventh place, just five shots back of the lead after a first round 296 as a team.
 
Avery Sky shot the best round of any Sea Lion across the two days, carding an even-par 72 in the first round to finish the opening day tied for seventh.
 
PLNU then carded a 309 in the second round, as Annika Yturralde ended the tournament tied for 34th at six-over to lead the Sea Lions. Summer Schafer and Sky both finished one shot back tied for 41st out of 142 competitors.
 
Sky tied for second among all players by shooting two-under on par-four holes, while Yturralde's seven birdies across the two rounds ranked sixth.
 
Point Loma's next tournament will be the PacWest Championships in North Las Vegas, Nevada at Aliante G.C.
