The NCAA West Regional returns to America's Most Scenic Ballpark for the third time in five seasons.

PLNU BASEBALL TO HOST NCAA WEST REGIONAL AS NO. 2 SEED

(SAN DIEGO) The NCAA West Regional is returning to America's Most Scenic Ballpark.
 
For the third time in five seasons, Point Loma will host the NCAA West Regional in Carroll B. Land Stadium, May 14-16, with the Sea Lions earning the No. 2 seed in the region as announced on Sunday night.
 
PLNU will welcome No. 3 seed Cal Poly Pomona and No. 6 seed Cal State San Bernardino to The Point, with one of those three teams advancing to the Super Regionals (May 22-23).
 
No. 2 Point Loma (44-10 overall, 37-7 PacWest), making its fifth straight regional appearance, won both the PacWest regular season and tournament titles this season.
   
No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona (30-23, 18-14 CCAA) finished third in the CCAA regular season standings and earned an at-large berth into the regional.
 
No. 6 Cal State San Bernardino (27-25 overall, 15-16 CCAA) won the CCAA Tournament, going a perfect 4-0 to earn the conference's automatic bid.
 
CPP and CSUSB will play on Thursday at 11 a.m., with the loser then playing PLNU afterward at 2 p.m., before Friday's and Saturday's matchups are to be determined based on Thursday's results.
   
The team to advance past the double-elimination regional will advance to the Super Regionals against either No. 1 seed Cal State Monterey Bay, No. 4 seed Cal State San Marcos or No. 5 Northwest Nazarene, the defending regional champions.

  1. Cal State Monterey Bay (36-16) – CCAA at-large, CCAA regular season champions
  2. Point Loma (44-10) –PacWest regular season/tournament champions
  3. Cal Poly Pomona (30-23) – CCAA at-large
  4. Cal State San Marcos (33-17) – CCAA at-large
  5. Northwest Nazarene (38-16) – GNAC regular season/tournament champions
  6. Cal State San Bernardino (27-25) – CCAA tournament champions
