POINT LOMA ADDS MINTER, EDWARDS TO 2026-27 ROSTER

5/18/2026 7:36:00 PM

(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Basketball has announced the signings of both Kaden Minter and Marcellus Edwards ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Minter, a 6-foot-7 graduate forward from Seal Beach, earned All-PacWest honors at Concordia last year when he led the PacWest in 3-pointers made per game and shot 41.2% from behind the arc.

A 14.7 points-per-game scorer last season, Minter eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for his collegiate career. He averaged double-digit points in each of his two seasons at CUI after leading his conference in scoring while at Santa Ana CC.

"Kaden has been one of the best players in the PacWest for consecutive seasons," Head Coach Justin Downer said. "His ability to shoot the ball is something we put a premium on, but his ability to create his own shot and IQ is probably underrated.

"He will be an effortless fit into our program on and off the floor. We are so excited to help Kaden become the best version of himself."

Edwards, a 6-foot-2 guard from San Francisco, was Minter's teammate at Concordia last season, averaging 11.7 points per game.

During his previous two years at Chabot College, Edwards was a two-time All-Coast Conference selection.

"We are so fortunate to add such a talented guard like Marcellus," Downer said. "He has shown the ability to create his own shot for himself and others, he was one of the best isolation players in the west region last season and will be a seamless fit with our current roster.

"Marcellus is a great teammate, and we look forward to maximizing his development next season."

Point Loma previously announced the signings of Boston University graduate transfer Otto Landrum and incoming freshman point guard Aiden Rollins.

PLNU won a fifth straight PacWest regular season championship and a second consecutive conference tournament title in 2025-26, reaching a third Sweet 16 in four years.
