SAN DIEGO – Alyssa Dywer hammered 13 kills and was in on four blocks as the NAIA No. 15-ranked Sea Lions swept The Master's Saturday afternoon in Golden Gym (25-17, 25-20, 25-23). PLNU All-American Tabitha Henken added 12 kills in the GSAC triumph.

Point Loma Head Coach Rochelle Short used the occasion to get some of the team's freshmen court time, including Sarah Rummelhoff, Paige Woodward, Marissa Ellow, Kelsey Barker and Tatiana Martinez. All performed well in limited action to help the Sea Lions garner the sweep.

The opening set was close until Point Loma broke free from the Mustangs midway in. The Sea Lions grabbed a modest lead before wrapping the set up with five straight points.

The Mustangs charged out of the gate with a 6-1 run to open the second but PLNU caught the visitors at 10-10 and never looked back.

Set three was close in the final score though the Sea Lions were ahead at one point 20-14. The Master's rallied to pull to within one at 24-23, but Henken ended the day's play with a kill.

Point Loma improved to 13-8 overall with the win, 7-5 GSAC. The Mustangs fell to 7-14, 2-10 conference play.

The Sea Lions travel to California Baptist on Tuesday for a 7:00 pm match.
